This was my then-future-wife's first dead-family show, and it delivered well. Joan was the hook for her and getting to sing along with The Weight brought

it home. I go back to this show frequently and love the singing in Magnolia Mountain. Phil kills all night, and the setlist is mostly just good fun, plus a few heart-warmers/leg-resters. Does anyone remember the woman getting naked at the end of Phil's set before being escorted out by some uniformed gentlemen? Thanks for taping!

I missed Montage this tour, but cop hassles notwithstanding, this show is some serious sh*t, yall! This stellar Rob Clarke recording captures the summer

tour at its creative peak. Larry Campbell's intros to "Wheel" on this tour are nothing short of little symphonies for guitar. (Can't remember if he does it here at Montage, but oooooh, the way they jam out of Wheel and into the Playin reprise gives me shivers.

I was in Scranton this night even though i dont really like scranton. i was going to go to philly to see Ratdog but i heard it there was supposed to by
...
severe thunderstorms (which it never did)and it was on the fesival pear at penns landing so i went to scranton. The first set was great. The sitting on top of the world opener got me moving my dancing feet from the very begining. the Highlight of the first set in my opinion was the mississippi half step > The Weight to close the first set and sadly had to say goodbye to barry sless for the rest of the show. Now don't get me wrong I think trey is an amazing guitarist and i see how much phil likes playing with him but personally I LOVE BARRY and think he deserves to be out there the whole show. I really enjoyed the winter tour geting to see him play the guitar not only pedal steel. Well any way Trey came out and played the second set and of couse it still rocked. terripan station is always cool when phil sings. it brings a tear to my eye. The morning dew was superb joan really does a nice job on this tune. i think bonnie dobson would be proud. the wheel is on of my all time favorite Grateful Dead songs and since I was born in 1985 and unfortunatly never ever got to see them do it it is so magical when i see Phil do it. thank you Phil for a real good time.

sign flag? I think I met you at this show. Whoever it was I met gave me an amazing recording of the Bethel show on CD and I remember thinking "how did he have it so fast?" Anyway, great job rob. Keep up the good work.

Listening to this, at one point, I thought 'whoa', I went to turn it up and I hear (presumably) the taper say "Oh Yeah!" This is a very good recording
...
of a phenominal show. Joan actually made me cry during Morning Dew. And I was laughing during Terrapin. I just couldn't believe that they were driving this so hard. Its like the music was out in front of them and they were hanging on for dear life. This is good stuff - download now, send it to all your friends. Wake the neighbors. Sound is amazingly good - I'm sure they'll release it remixed and I'll get it then, but for now its as good as it gets. Much respect, Rob, and thank you. Maybe I only heard it in my head. But, wow, you done good here!
